Born in 1975 in Bogotá, Colombia.
Degree in Chemical Engineering
at the Universidad Nacional de Colombia (Bogotá - Colombia, 1999) with emphasis in Biotechnology. Design, construction and
set up of an Airlift biorreactor of 30L, was the final project. Master in Biotechnology was achieved in the Universidade de
São Paulo (São Paulo - Brazil, 2003) with a project entitled Improvement of polyhydroxyalcanoates production in Airlift biorreactors
at high cellular density.
At present, PhD Student at the University
of Porto (Porto - Portugal, from 2004) and INEB - Instituto de Engenharia Biomedica. The current research studies are focused
in the Development, characterisation and application of a collagen and hydroxyapatite nanosized scaffold to be used as a biomaterial
in bone regeneration.
Visiting Student Research Scientist at the
Tissue Engineering Laboratory, Medical School, Harvard University (Boston - USA, 2006).
